Building Websites for
The Woodlands Market

The Woodlands is a lot of small markets stacked together. A dental office in Sterling Ridge, a law firm in a Waterway Square tower and a boutique on Market Street are all "Woodlands businesses," but their customers search differently and expect different things when they land on the site. A generic template doesn't handle that well.

Customers here also have high expectations. Many of them work in corporate offices, use polished software all day, and will judge your business by how the site looks on their phone at a red light on Woodlands Parkway. If it loads slowly or buries the phone number, they hit back and call the next result.

Our web design and development services cover the full build: strategy, custom design, development and launch. This page covers what that looks like for a business in The Woodlands specifically.

What Woodlands Businesses
Need From a Website

People search by village, not just by city

Someone in Alden Bridge or Sterling Ridge often searches with the village name, or with a road like Research Forest or Kuykendahl. If your site only says "The Woodlands" once in the footer, you miss those searches. We write service-area copy around the villages you actually serve.

You compete with the whole I-45 corridor

A search here pulls in businesses from Spring, Shenandoah, Conroe and Tomball. Google tends to favor the site that loads fast and answers the question on the first screen, so we build for speed and put your service, area and phone number up top.

You need to update it yourself, fast

When Hurricane Beryl knocked out power across the area in July 2024, plenty of local businesses needed to post closures and new hours the same day. If changing a banner means emailing a developer and waiting, the site is working against you. Every site we hand off comes with training on how to edit it.

From Hughes Landing
to Creekside Park

Most of our local clients are service businesses: insurance agencies, mortgage brokers, medical and dental practices, home service companies. A practice near the hospital campuses along I-45 needs clear appointment paths and insurance information. A home services company covering Panther Creek, Cochran's Crossing and Grogan's Mill needs service-area pages that match where its trucks actually go.

If you're south of Spring Creek in Creekside Park, your customers may also be coming from Tomball and Spring, so your site should speak to both. We sort out that kind of detail during the discovery call, before any design work starts.

Why Woodlands Businesses
Work With AJWN

AJWN Consulting is headquartered in The Woodlands. We also work with clients in other states, but this is home. When you mention the traffic on Research Forest or a client who drives in from Magnolia, we know what you mean.

The same team that builds your site can host it, maintain it and handle your local search work afterward, so you have one call to make when something breaks or needs to change. See our web maintenance plans and local SEO services for how that works. Every launch includes 30 days of post-launch support, and you can browse our recent work or the other areas we serve.

For accessibility, we build to the Department of Justice web accessibility guidance from the start rather than bolting it on later.

“Website design? Yes! SEO placement? Yup! Need marketing advice from a business pro that has "been there and done that" so that you can take your business to the next level? AJWN is the only place I will go now after being burned by so many so-called "marketing pros". Alan listened to my wants/needs, shared with me ideas on how to maximize with less out-of-pocket, and then he implemented it better than I expected. Thanks, Alan!”

Web Design Questions
From The Woodlands

Can you build a website that shows up for my village, like Alden Bridge or Creekside Park?
Yes. We set up page titles, headings and service-area copy that name the villages and roads your customers use, and we line that up with your Google Business Profile. A website alone will not guarantee a ranking, but it gives Google clear signals about where you work.
My business is in Creekside Park. Does it count as The Woodlands for search?
Creekside Park is part of The Woodlands, but it sits in Harris County and many addresses there carry a Tomball or Spring mailing address. That mismatch can confuse search engines, so we make sure your site, Google Business Profile and directory listings describe your location the same way.
How long does a website take to build?
Most projects take 4 to 8 weeks from kickoff, depending on scope and how quickly feedback comes back. If you start in late October or November, plan on a January launch, since the holidays slow down approvals on both sides.
Do you redesign existing websites for Woodlands businesses?
Yes, and most of our local work is redesigns. We look at your current traffic, which pages bring in calls, and which ones get ignored before we change anything, so the new site keeps what already works.
Does my small business website need to be ADA accessible?
The U.S. Department of Justice has said the ADA applies to the websites of businesses that are open to the public, and accessibility lawsuits against small businesses do happen in Texas. We build with readable contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text and proper heading structure from the start.
